I’m Catherine Mitchell, a Certified Special Education Teacher and Dyslexia Specialist based in Fort Worth, Texas.
I’m also a mom of three children with different learning struggles and learning differences, so this work is personal to me.
I know the heartbreak of watching a child work harder than everyone around them and still feel like they are falling behind.
I know what it is like to sit across from teachers, specialists, and schools searching for answers.
And I know how quickly a reading struggle can begin affecting far more than academics. It can change a child’s confidence, their willingness to try, and the way they see themselves.
That is a big part of why I have spent my career in special education and reading intervention.
I have always believed that children deserve the chance to reach their full potential, and becoming a strong, independent reader is one of the most powerful ways we can give them that chance.
